3. Gotta admit, I did the head spin the first time I heard "YUMMM-O"...
The first couple of shows are kind of like "Why am I watching this" and then EVERY...NIGHT...At...SIX...it's Rachel Ray time...

I've gotta see if there's a local support group or something, maybe they can do an intervention or at least come over and make me some damned smashed potatoes...

5. She is a good looking woman!
She is not a waif, like Giada DeLaurentiis! (I watch Giada to yell at the TV - with her alternating between casual pronunciation and the over pronounced Italian pronunciations - drives me batshit crazy!)

11. I do not trust skinny people with food...
Unless they used to be fat. Always trust a fat girl with food. Not that RR is fat, she's just not as skinny as Gaida. and not as annoying, and that's saying a lot!

13. Cannot watch Giada...she seems artificial or something...
I like Rachel because even though it may all be an act, she "seems" real...

Especially when she brings out a side of beef slathered in garlic and vegetables laying on 20 pounds of noodles and says "This will feed 8 to 10 people...or I might just eat it ALL..."

14. And she is at a "normal" weight
I think Giada may stick her finger down her throat after eating.

17. Thanks for the visual!
Unfortunately, Giada reminds me a bit of Drea De Matteo from "The Sopranos," which may actually be the main reason that I don't care for her (not a Drea fan at all), and as all Sopranos fans KNOW, she "decorated" an FBI desktop in her final season.

12. I never post spoilers!
I am so sad for my Twins, and am so farquing sick of the BoTox - Skankees rivalry.

I think the Angels have a real chance to do it again!

15. I'm sad for your Twins, too; they're one of my favorite teams.
Even though we beat them for the AL Championship in '02.

And remember: the team we beat to get to that series was those same Bronx Barfers. :hi:

Wouldn't it be fun to see an Angels/Cardinals series? The Cards have at least two former Halos: Jim Edmonds and David Eckstein, and Eck was on the 02 WS team.

19. Some info from "Answers.com"...
Rachael Ray (born August 25, 1968) is the host of the Food Network television programs 30 Minute Meals, $40 a Day, and Inside Dish. She was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She has a brother, Emmanual, and a sister, Maria. Her mother is Sicilian; her father lives in Louisiana. Ray's late maternal grandfather, Gran'pa Emmanuel, served as a strong influence on her cooking style.

She helped open Agata & Valentina, a New York City marketplace, and worked at Cowan & Lobel in Albany. When her 30 minute meal classes were a huge success, she was asked to continue them on the news. Her shows for Food Network continue to air and she has two new cookbooks set for release in October 2004. In 2003, she was featured in an FHM pictorial, and she was voted #92 on FHM-US's 100 Sexiest Women of 2004. She lives in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. Her beloved dog, Boo, passed away early in 2005.

She is engaged to John Cusimano, a lawyer and member of the band "The Cringe". They are planning a wedding for fall of 2005 in Tuscany.

Ray is known for designing simple, healthful recipes that can be prepared in thirty minutes or less. She has an admitted aversion to measuring, and prefers approximations like "half a palmful" to stricter, traditional measurements. She also dislikes baking desserts and is notorious for burning bread under the broiler. Through her television appearances, Ray has popularized phrases like "EVOO" (extra-virgin olive oil), "Yumm-o", and "Insanely good!".

desparately in love with Rachael Ray (to my wife's chagrin) until the last couple of shows. That new hairdo makes her look like the Shih Tzus in "Best in Show".

25. If she says E-V-O-O one more time...
:grr: :grr: :grr:

The only person that pisses me off more in TV chef land is that asshole Bobby Flay!

Mario Batali is great, and I actually like that Italian connection girl as well. Somehow she manages to not dumb things down TOO far, and it works out nicely. I swear sometimes she says the most overly suggestive things, though, oh man! I'm not often one accused of having my mind in the gutter, so I can only assume it's not just me. Maybe she's just a little *too* descriptive.
