After 8 years' of having the same apartment furnishings...
I revamped the place after clearing out TONS of garbage (over 15 39-gallon trash bags) and crap furniture. Spending $250 total, I've redecorated everything big-time. Mostly clearance stuff, mind you, but I suppose I should be putting every spare penny into my credit card repayment. (A $80 tv stand, which was a low price for a solid piece of furniture, computer desk accessories that would have cost me more than 2x in March, 12 picture frames now containing some of my best photo shots I sell, and maroon, burgundy, and cherry red tablecloths, sofa covers, and other things...)

Yet compared to even 6 months ago, my apartment is so much more open, decorated with style, RELAXING to live in for once. I love it. And it feels welcoming.

But I bet my parents will complain about me spending money, as usual. They're half-right, but I think the expenditure was worth it.

1. A change of scenery will do you good.
I happen to need one about every 8 months. I would be absolutely insane with the same stuff for 8 years. You must feel better.

I am just taking a moment from the dreaded cleaning up of the back bedroom. Everything gets stuffed in there. Yes, throwing out lots of crap. We donate stuff too. And since most of our stuff is second-hand, it is easier to give something else a try. And if there is no new stuff to put into the mix, I still move everything around to give it a new feel.

I made real progress but have alot more to do.

Enjoy your new surroundings, I always do.

Oh, and now it it time for you to have some company as well.

2. Exactly!
I've worked hard to turn my apartment from geek-central to suave-cool-yet-geek-friendly.

My bird loves her new cage toys too! :D

I wish I adopted the sun conure 3 years ago, though... a bit loud though...
