I can't express what a beautiful thing I saw transpire here this week during the fund drive. DUers came through in such a BIG way for those who are going through some rough financial times.

Once the call went out, I literally had my inbox flooded with offers to sponsor people. As soon as I had everyone matched up, I would have more people offering help. Some stretched their own budget to take care of one person, others were able to help out multiple posters. I even I had a few repeat sponsors who saw how happy it made one person and wanted to help another.

I didn't keep track, but we were able to fund stars for about 75 people and probably drove Skinner crazy in the sometimes confused process. ;-) That is truly remarkable.

So, if you sponsored DUers and want to take a bow, now is you turn to shine. If you received a star and want to thank your sponsor, here's your chance. Most people wanted to remain anonymous, but if you thank them here, they know who they are and will see it.

Warning! This thread is destined to turn into one of those touchy-feely group hug sorts of things. But at a time when we and our world are literally under attack by this administration, it sure feels good to remember what we're fighting for and what this community is all about.

21. Just a note to sponsors

Be sure and double check that those you sponsored have gotten their star. I tried to keep up, but there were so many that I fear someone may have slipped through the cracks.

If you don't see a star, PM Skinner that name on the credit card and the user name that you sponsored and I'm sure he'll take care of it as soon as he gets a chance.
