1. First run the error checker then defragment. The Error Checker will |
|
only run in XP if you reboot.

4. Double Click on My Computer - Right Click on C: Drive - Properties |
|
Tools - Error Checker - Check Now
Makeasure both boxes are checked - Click OK.
It will run for a few seconds then ask you if you want to run it on Reboot. Click Yes. Then Reboot whenever. Now it's going to take about 20 minutes or so depending on the sizi of the hard drive.
Once you've logged back in run the Defragmenter.
You know to PM me if you have aany questions.

2. Diskeeper 8 (or 9?) is much faster... |
|
Diskeeper made the integrated one into XP, but made it deliberately crippled. For obvious reasons. :D
