Who knows Republicans who can't stand Bush? |
|
My best friend is a registered Republican. She surely doesn't always vote that way. She absolutely can't stand Bush. And her mother, who is turning 90 is even more Anti-Bush. They turn the channel on the TV when he comes on. The mom wore an anti bush shirt I gave her. She also read a lot of books I let her borrow. They are pretty much republican because they believe in personal rights, but they are evenhanded about it. They believe in gun ownership, and that government should not become involved in gay marriage, that it should be allowed. They are anti-patriot act, for sure.
Anyone elso know folks like this?

And, surprisingly, my very Republican brother has virtually done a 180 recently... although for such a smart guy, it sure took him long enough.

10. Glad to say it. Although, |

it has put a bit of a damper on our occasional weekend nights, sitting on the deck, drinking Jack, :smoke: and gigging the hell out of each other -- not nearly as much fun when you're in agreement, y'know?

7. Bush sort of came across as moderate the first time |
|
That was probably out of necessity. Really, there isn't much he or most of the Neocons believe in that most traditional republicans do. I see McCain as more of a traditional republican.

But he's a bit of a RINO. He's from buffalo NY, joined when it was run by people like the Rockefellers (effeciant and philathropic), he feels the party was hijacked by the religous right. He can not be more anti-Bush. He has a picture of dubya's face on his seat at the dinner table and has been sitting on it since the first election. We call it George Tush

8. George Tush, that is funny. |

Yes, it seems it is no longer the party of Lincoln or the Rockefellers.

I think so. He actually took me to see Clinton speak when he was running in the dem primaries for his first election (1992)I remember sitting on his shoulders for 2 hours. I can't remember much about the content (I was 7 so I a lot of it probably went over my head). He liked Clinton and wasn't impressed with Dole (or Bush the elder for that matter)so I think that he voted for Clinton in both elections.(We believe that voting is private and don't discuss it but it is fairly easy to infer) And he hated W before he was president, he started sitting on George Tush a couple months before the first election.

He's a registered Republican but he hates W as much as I do!
Although he never, EVER votes the way the GOP tells him to, either!
