18. get photos to start with
then names of every employee there; snapshots of the employees will be helpful, too.

get copies of any work-orders or anything they've tried to show you and lastly, yeah, i'd call the cops for them trespassing on and destruction of your property.

then, if you've got a lawyer, i'd get him/her on the horn and ask for further advice.

keep us informed - what a pain for you!

21. Give 'em hell. I had to go off yesterday.
My mother lied to me and told me she was going to get the software I need for a class in college and then kept me on her delapidated computer for 3 hours. Every time I would try to tell her how to attach a picture to send thru email, she wanted to rescan it. When I tried to show her how to drag and drop to edit the picture (it was 8 mb with 2/3 of that being white space she didn't seem to want to crop and col has a 4 mb limit on any email we send), anyhow, I found out she had quit using her mouse and had disabled left click on her touchpad from hell. That thing got on my nerves almost as much as her not wanting to click the paper clip. She kept saying this is the way I do it. But the way she had been doing it wouldn't work. Obviously, she wasn't doing it right or it would have worked. How does she expect to do something wrong and get it right. I ended up having to concede the 8 mb 2/3 of which was empty white space (she insisted on scanning the picture in the middle of the scanner and not at the top corner on top of all this) and just tell her to send it. Then she wanted to go off into more crap she had screwed up on the computer and blamed on the isp. I finally cracked. No wonder my stepfather has been diagnosed with dimentia. I would have it too if I had to live with her full time. She's enough to drive me back to drugs and alcohol. She lies like a dog half the time, but not every other time so I never know whether I can trust her or not. Ooooooh, she makes me

Please let this be a general unload the garbage thread. I'm with you on the furious feelings. I'm still reeling. I wish I didn't have to study for a test. I'd break out some vodka and join you for a general gripe session about bullshit. Is your bullshit'o'meter needle pegging yet, or did it break off like mine did this morning?

I say Give 'em hell and don't let up until they know you've been in their face. They have no right to tear up your property because your neighbor has decided the tree is somehow bothering somebody. Urgh, I'm with you. :bounce:  I'd be throwing shit bruising my hand punching the wall (like yesterday). You are mighty calm over this.

27. Scumbags
Yeah, I would call the cops. No kidding.

Years ago, I lived in an apartment in an old house that had been converted. The owners hired a company to remove the old (asbestos) siding and put on new stuff. This company was a joke - no doubt cheap. They used NO safety equipment whatsoever (I had three small children at the time). I came home from work to find them ripping this stuff off the house, tossing on one of MY kids blankets that had been on my clothesline and dragging it across my yard to a rented U-Haul trailer that they were using to bring it to the local landfill.

There were so many code violations involved that it wasn't funny. :grr:

I complained to the landlord who simply shrugged so I called around to find out who to report it all to. I can't remember what agency I got in the end but I got a very bad flu that year that turned to pneumonia and I had pneumonia twice a year after that for the next 6 or 7 years. All my kids have asthma to one extent or another, as do I and I always wondered if the asbestos had something to do with it.

Fucking idiots out there in the world.

28. First off, get off the computers, and go take a bunch of pictures
Snap everything, from the tracks to the downed trees, everything. Get witnesses, names company name, etc. Record video if you can.

Then tommorrow go find a good lawyer and sue that company into oblivion. Go for both the monetary loss and the emotional loss. Make 'em pay through the nose. This is complete and unmitagate bullshit. In fact, you might have a case to call the cops and bust these fools for B&E, trespassing at least. A good criminal charge always makes the civil trial go better.

31. The OWNER Just Left
he was scared shitless. apologized up and down. asked me if i was suing him. told him no. wasn't interested.

he is sending a crew out to fix the damage, and trim up our huge maple for free. i told him from now on he needs a signature from the homeowner. told him if he had damaged the house i WOULD have his ass in court. also told him that it probably wasn't a good idea to move a vehicle without an owner's permission.

he left with his tail between his legs and rightfully so. i just hopes he does what he promised (signatures) in the future.

*sigh*

homeownership is a bitch sometimes

44. um. I wouldn't LET HIM TOUCH MY FUCKIN TREE
I would tell him he's welcome to PAY AN ISA or ASA certified arborist to assess and trim the tree.

A large well pruned tree can add thousands to the value of your property. A poorly pruned tree isn't worth shit. And you may have to remove it at extra cost-a couple grand. Allowing HIS FUCKED UP CREW to trim your tree may release him from any future action against him.

You should insist on having an arborist not recommended by him to come and assess the damage to your trees. Compaction to the root zone by heavy equipment can cause damage that won't show up or kill your tree for 3-5 years.

I went to college for this shit, so I know what I'm talking about. Get a lawyer. The guy is getting an excellent deal and you *may* get totally screwed if you go along as you have laid it out here.

some ass wanted his view to be better, so he cut down 3, count 'em, 3 of his neighbors' 50 year old trees. Guy sues in small claims court for the legal limit (I think at that time it was like 3 grand). Whopper (spelling?) told him he could have sued for three times the cost of replacing the trees.

I would be furious & going for prison time if I could.

edited for spelling, punctuation
