2. George Lucas owes the Matrix trilogy a big hug.

It's even more vapid and overly focussed on visuals than the new Star Wars movies are.

Christ, I hated those last two Matrix flicks. Absolute shit, they were.

3. Phantom Menace
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 07:19 PM by Leftist78
was a devil-spawned-franchise-tarnishing piece of shit that should have never been allowed into the theaters to torture loyal Star Wars fans everywhere. To even think of that horrible CGI travesty makes me want to lose it. :puke:

5. had he done the first 3 first
instead of 4,5, and 7, and did 4,5, and 7 now you'd be pissed off about THOSE while liking the first 3, lucas has had the story play out (from what i've heard, over 3 generations) let them do them all, then i will judge

8. Lucas claims that
but the movies don't support the idea that he had it all worked out. First movie (A New Hope) had flirted with the possibility of a Luke, Lea relationship. The movie poster even had her kneeling under him while grasping his leg in a sexy way, but by the time you get to Return of The Jedi, she's his sister. That's obviously an idea they threw together in order to make "Jedi" wrap up nice and neat in the end and clear the way for a Han and Lea relationship.

Also in A New Hope, Obi-Wan tells Luke that when he met his father (Anakin Skywalker) he was already an accomplished pilot. In Phantom Menace when they meet Anakin he's just a little kid. It's true he did pod race, but that's not the same as being a pilot.

I believe it's obvious that Lucas is full of shit when he says he had everything worked out ahead of time when.

And yes I'm a total geek who should get out more :)

6. I'm sorry, I'm still stuck in the I Hate Jar Jar phase
I can't get past my thoroughgoing loathing of that "character". I can't judge the movies objectively unless that ... thing ... is deleted.

7. That guy is playing Anakin AGAIN! Is there no mercy??
I'm all for cute actors as a casting choice, but DAMN was Hayden Christenson a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Anakin. I don't think I've EVER seen a more drastic disparity in talent than I have in that film. Sam Jackson, good. Ewan Macgregor, good. Natatie Portman, good . Hayden Christenson, SUCK!

Now, I don't want to be too bad on him, it might just be the CRAPPY SCRIPTS.

I want to know why Anakin turns to the dark side, but I don't think George Lucas or Hayden Christenson will be able to give me the slightest clue.

9. the worst thing about the star wars movies..
look at the directing for the action scenes.. it took me a while to figure out why they sucked so badly.

he uses a completely still camera to film people running around. i've seen so few action type flicks that use this and there's a reason-people look freaking stupid running, it's slow as hell and looks un-natural in an action sequence.

that, and the horrible dialogue.. what a fucking waste of a great series.

and don't even get me started on the matrix sequels..

"i can fly away but i think i'll punch this guy for 20 minutes because it looks cool!!, then i'll fly away!"
