Inspired by the gift of ham not fully cooked (see earlier boring thread), I'm cooking up a ham loaf recipe, courtesy Mrs. Robb's late grandmother's cookbook! Make one yourself!
1-1/2 lbs ham (coarsely ground) 1-1/2 lbs lean ground pork 1 cup crushed corn flakes 1 egg, slightly beaten 2/3 cup milk 1 tsp dry mustard Pinch cloves 1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce 1 Tbsp minced onion Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all the ingredients, form into a loaf. Bake in shallow pan uncovered 1-1/2 hours in 300 degree oven. During baking last 45 minutes, baste with following:
Bring to a boil: 1 cup vinegar 1 cup brown sugar 1 or 2 tsp mustard
:bounce: Ham loaf! Makes kick-ass sandwiches the next day!
