3. Congratulations on posting a poll, TXlib!
I have yet to think of anything this witty to ask. I am the lone non-mammal eater, but I do sometimes eat chicken or fish.

9. So am I
haven't eaten red meat in 20 years or so. I don't even have the enzymes to digest that stuff anymore. I only eat poultry because I'm the laziest person on this earth, and it's hard to eat convenience foods if you don't eat chicken. Shellfish...well, I wasn't successful at giving up shellfish when I was a vegetarian. I miss shellfish much more than any other meat.

4. Other here
I eat what I like. I don't like meat very much but not because of a philosophical or health reason. In fact, the only meat I really like is bacon and Carolina style pork bar-b-q, I guess neither is too healthy. I also don't like sweets/desserts and I don't like eggs. So I mostly eat carbs and dairy. I don't care about calories or fat content and so far don't have to worry about weight or cholesterol or high blood pressure but maybe that will change with age although I'm fairly old now.

7. Thanks!
I do like fried catfish and hushpuppies and my dogs are brothers named Catfish and Hushpuppy (he's deaf). It's tough to come up with usernames and I'm not even sure why I used Catfish, I registered a long time ago but just started posting. I like political topics but find the lounge entertaining and seem to post here the most.

13. When you commented on your age, at first I thought you might
have been Catfish Hunter, but I seem to recall his passing not long ago. Oops! I am not big on hushpuppies, but have only had the fast-food variety. I do like most kinds of fish. I have two dogs, as well, and one cat. Those are such cool names for your dogs. There are a lot of animal threads in The Lounge. I will look forward to seeing their pictures posted here one day. Again, welcome to DU!:hi:

8. Omivore - raw when possible
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 09:55 PM by supernova
Eat a lot of my veggies raw (bell peppers, salad stuff) and also sushi and sashimi. IOW, I'm lazy. If I don't have to cook it, I won't. ;-)

10. Omnivore but I used to be ovo-lacto vegetarian
Gave it up when a cheeseburger cured a cold. I think you should eat what you like as long as it doesn't make you feel poorly afterward (including your conscience). I would love to be able to eat seafood again. Especially:
fried clams
tuna steak
swordfish
calamari
octopus
shark
steamed mussels
grouper
lobster
haddock
mahi mahi
