Rant. Balls to every DUer who thinks that just because I don't post |
|
in GD or GD-P or LBN, I'm unaware of what's going on. I read them, but I've gotten to the point where I'm tired of being mad all the time. I don't post there because most of the threads I would post on are already up to 90 thru 300. What's the point? I got tired(in another forum) of waiting for the pop pop fizz fizz after every rant. So I only post in the lounge. Patronizing people on your side is an elitist power grab.

What you said. (I got there even before the election last year. I still believe what I believe politically, I'm just fried with politics at the moment.)

2. Thank you SharahBelle. |

I read, I do what I can, but I choose to post in the lounge because this is where the heart of DU is. And the humor which is what I very much need most days.

there's waaaaay too much tinfoil hattery and kneejerk reaction in DU political forums. I poke my head in every once in a while, but honestly, the Lounge is DU's strength. For me, anyway.

4. Those posters do what they need to do. |

I'm so tired of them pretending that the Lounge is is lite weight. It's where people come with everyday problems, and an everyday need to play. Adults lose when they forget how to play. I think that's the slippery slope to unrelieved hostility. Next step is, of course, a closed mind. edit for bad typing.

5. Sometimes I wish there were a "missing link" between the lounge and GD... |
|
When I spend too much time in the lounge sometimes I feel like I did when I outgrew comic books. But GD takes such a commitment of time. If you get in a tussle it can take days.

6. GD takes a commitment of brain. |

You have to keep up. The lounge is a commitment to your fellow man, or your sense of play. Here's what they gave me. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=3297682&mesg_id=3297682
