I'll see you on the Dark Side of the Moon...
30 years old. Wow.

"The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon "

Trivia: How many consecutive weeks was DSOTM on the Billboard charts? How many total weeks?

"All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon..."

1. 30 and a "heavy" captain for the boxhaulers?
I'd say you have the world by the tail. Hope you have a strong union and a bullet-proof contract. Protect the pension. Period.

3. Have you seen the amatuer video of the MD-11 crash in Asia?
Narrated by a British Airways pilot in the car? I saw it in accident investigation school (ALPA). It was after the EWR Fedex crash, but very similar conditions, if I remember correctly. I did not realize that the Louisville gang had MD-11s. You aren't Memphis gang, are you?

4. Yes, I've got it...hell of a clip, huh?
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 10:40 PM by sfecap
I tought it was a Cathay crew in the van, the Captain was just playing with his new camera and happened to catch it...
Ironically, I was just south of HKG on my way to TPE when it happened...

Yeah, we started to take MD11 deliveries last year, eventually we'll have 35 or so. I really like the airplane, very nice. Never thought I'd say that. :-)

I'm with the SDF gang.

I'm a Boeing guy too, but I ended my career (medical disqual) as an MD-80 captain. What a P.O.S.!

Touch-down gently in that MD-11, mate! Very gently.

BTW: Know where I can get a copy of that video? PM me if you do.

Mac

On edit re your edit: Might have been Cathay. The guy had a Brit accent. Ex-pat probably.

7. PM me your email address...
I'll send it to you.

Actually the new generation LSAS software makes landings very nice. (Just land it like the 727-200.)

Yeah, I have flown the 727, 747, 757/767, and I never thought I'd leave the Boeing family...'course it's the Boeing MD11, now. LOL.

Last 9 years were on the 767, but the MD is taking all the routes the 767 was flying, so I had to switch. I like having a bunk to sllep in though. Nothing like actually getting some rest on a 11.5 hour flight...

8. Position of DSOM
The only record to beat it was and is Jackson's Thriller.

9. I love Pink Floyd
Their music, lyrics. Great band (been in a big PF mood the past few weeks). They don't make bands like that anymore.
