12. Hell, when someone's on big time painkillers
As she had to be, even after they stop
taking them it takes days and days to
feel remotely normal. Narcotic cause
serious spacyness.

Oh god, I hope she doesn't try to operate
any heavy machinery! :)

14. I had a horrible accident when I was 18 and ruined my back
They had me on pain killers for a while and then they take you off and put you on muscle relaxers.

She might be on muscle relaxers.

11. Right..
Christ, only 20 years old. She's still a kid.

Sending kids into war should be a crime.. they should be at least 21 before seeing active war duty..IMO.

5. I wouldn't call her ditzy
She's just a small-town girl that's been through a bunch of shit, and now is in the spotlight, and doesn't know quite how to handle it.

10. I agree
considering the crap she's been through I think she handles it well. She'll be OK...

15. No, but it would have been nice if she said something coherant
Maybe used a word with more than one syllable,
or a sentence with more than one word.

She said at least twice that she was glad to have the opportunity
to do the talk show circuit and tell her side of the story...
Then there was no hint of what her side was.
As close as she got was "I'm no hero" followed immediately
by anyone who serves their country in war is a hero (words
fed to her by Letterman like most others).

How much poise would it take to memorize a few meaningful
phrases to follow thru on the tell of " side"?
I would think she's had time to meditate on what she wants to
say after releasing a book and doing previous interviews.

I also disliked her agreement that there was a reason she lived
and others died. Uh, rather callous to those who died, and to
the people who miss them.

From what I could gather, her side is:
I'm contractually obliged to promote this book so I can cash
my paycheck.

(Oh, and would it kill Letterman to plop down a ramp for
someone on crutches? Fer crying out loud. Navigating
steps on crutches is brutal.)

13. I think she came across as a sweet kid caught in a hurricane
crated by Bushco which promptly lost control of it.
