Oh, no, wait...

I meant "collosal failure on all fronts"

edit=actually, I meant "colossal". Oh, well, one never gets a chance to make another first impression!

Bush's War on Terrorism? About as effective as Reagan's War on Drugs, with added casualities.

PS: Edited for more pith.

5. Hey HeyHEy:
You'd get more responses with a "Say hello to our newest DUer!" type subject line...just a suggestion. Not many people are going to respond to this subject line because we've kinda exhausted it.

10. You can't wage war on an abstraction.
It is impossible to effectively eradicate the use of herbs, pills, and medicines. Humans will always have a need to alter their conciousness; that's hard-wired. You cannot destroy all the drugs in the world, there's too many of them. And locking away somebody like Tommy Chong is a waste of our Homeland Security tax dollars- don't we have anybody to go after who's actually doing something harmful?

Which of course brings us to the subject of the War on Terrorism, which is obviously a war on our civil rights and our ability to earn a living wage disguised as a "defense of -snicker, snicker- freedom." In a nutshell, Cheney and Ashcroft, et, al, are using the excuse that our American way of life is under threat of obliteration at all imes from shadowy forces under the command of Allah to ramrod odious legislation like the Patriot Act through the halls of government, and to ensure that America's young people turn to the military for work, since there sure ain't any jobs to have here anymore worth a shit.

How can you win a "War" on a nebulous phenomenon such as "Terrorism?" You can strengthen your own borders, you can send young people off to war, you can act like Charles Bronson in "Death Wish," but the most effective strategy is to STOP PISSING PEOPLE OFF! Share the sandbox with the other kids in the playground, and you won't get wedgies in the bathroom- seems simple, no? Unfortunately, our administration is taking the opposite course in conducting foreign policy, as it is so consumed with securing the oil of Iraq and awarding post-war rebuilding contracts to Halliburton; y'know, gettin' rich off of the suffering of others.

In other words, the wars on Drugs and Terrorism are utter, bitter failures and can only bode ill for the future of humanity.

13. The drug war was partially won...
until his pal Rush got "outed". Think of all the Oxycontin he kept off the streets where it might be abused...

Hammies!

9. Right-o, old man...good on ya, I say.
I have sent my household help off too. I am even considering closing one of the summer places due to the lack of help.

I just can't decide which one?

Have any ideas for me old sport?

12. I'm sure the Iraqi Navy could use a salty skipper, now that they
are on our side. Why don't you lease your yatch to one of our friends in the Hamptons for the duration, and sign up the boat crew. I've no doubt that they were getting quite bored with polishing the deck every morning, and other tedious tasks of such lowly regard.

Cheers.

11. Just like the war on drugs is actually just a "War on Some Drugs..."
The war on Terrorism is actaully just a "war on SOME Terrorists..." After all, some terrorists are actually very useful to Bush. Osama Bin Laden, for instance.
