26. And it's good to be "seen." |
|
Especially by you.:loveya:
Monk and Coltrane -- my spiritual leaders. Thanks!
OK, here's a toughie -- "Clark in the Dark" from the Mingus Town Hall Concert. Features CT who is one of my special favorites. If you can't find that, (and who can?) "Black and Tan Fantasy" w/ Clark by Duke. Or maybe some Terry/Brookmeyer, like "Step Right Up" from the "Tonight" album.
And some you're more likely to find:
Stan Kenton from the Cuban Fire album. (Unless you have the "Kenton Plays Wagner" album, from which the "Flight of the Valkyries" always brings a smile.
Dorothy Donegan, most under appreciated of the Tatum heirs. By the way, it was good to hear some King Cole piano.
Or, whatever you like, which is usually what I like.

Sunny, and it's finally cooled off. Sunny and a high of 76. I might have to get out and enjoy that - take a walk or something.
But I like the idea of learning together. I tend to be too focused on one area, and I ignore others. That's why this show is good for me. I'm exposed to a lot more.

Good for you, on the Texas Geography.
I'm recovering from being up late last night. I'll get up and moving after I eat some lunch. The chicken breast is marinating now. I'll cook it up after the show ends. Then, I'm out to enjoy this lovely day.

I still have a lot leftover. I ate some last night after getting back home. The evening was fun, but I was out with a large group of people who knew each other well. I only knew one person. So, it got boring at times, but it was good to be out of the house.
I'm marinating the chicken breast in vodka and lime juice, as well as seasonings. I'm out of tequila, or I'd have used that.
Hummus is really easy to make if you have a food processor.
I do like this tune. I'm bopping along to it while I sit here.

watergate blues
who does this (my connection keeps cutting out - thanks dial up)
cant help but keep thinking when i hear and see things from the 70s (all in the family or "you havent done nothin" by stevie wonder etc) that this is all deja vu
and we know that of course but it doesnt make it less bizarre to re live
