Anyone know of any good work-at-home opportunities?
I'm currently getting more webmaster/programming experience, but need some more overall experience. You know how employers want experience. Throughout my life, I've mainly helped out my family.

1. From what I hear
Most work at home jobs are scams. Be careful and remember that if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

13. Well, if your spouse has a job in town.
I'm sure if you had the capital to do a start up in farming you would do better with that money as an on-line day trader.

7. I started a home PC repair business earlier this year
and much to my surprise it's been going very well! I currently bill my time at $45 per hour. I also have some good magnetic signs on my vehicle, and they work-- today I was coming out of a restaurant, and was approached by someone needing help with a computer virus! K-ching!

Go with what you're good at. People will pay if your skill is in demand!

8. I have been wanting to do this too.
Tell me what have you done so far to get started? Do you advertise in papers or just word of mouth?

9. Several things
No ads, but I've been putting brochures up on the public bulletin boards at all the local WalMarts (I know, the stores suck, but a LOT of people read those boards!). Those brochures have brought me quite a few jobs. I also have two vehicles with magnetic signs. And word-of-mouth is VERY important-- a lot of my work has come from referrals.

And I was lucky enough to find another independent repair man who needed help-- I take his overflow, and often go around with him and help with his jobs. I know a lot he doesn't know, and he knows a lot I don't. So it's mutually beneficial.

10. Good idea
There are lots of Wal-marts, Meijer, and grocery stores near me. I think I will start canvasing them this weekend.

11. Stay away from the envelope-stuffing scam
Fell for this about a decade ago.

You know the one - you'll find ads in the classifieds stating that you can earn $400-1000 by stuffing envelopes. Well, just for laughs, I sent away for the info. Was told to send $20 to such-and-such address. I finally got the 'materials' and it was a piece of paper telling me to place ads in newspaper classifieds telling unsuspecting chumps to send $20 to get their info. Gee, I could have thought of that!

Yeah, I guess it was a good laugh for $20.

Wouldn't be surprised if this scam is still making the rounds.

12. Well, the ebay thing works
depends on how good of a salesperson you are, and sadly the economy, there may be more sellers than buyers, but it's something to think about.
