I stopped drinking ask me anything
5 days now. No, I wasnt an alcoholic. I just realized it was adding to my anxiety not helping it. So, no liquour. No coffee either. Its not so bad...oddly enough Ive lost a ton of weight, and I sleep really well. Im still on Xanax for chronic anxiety/menopause , some genetic crap I have. Nonetheless, I need a clear head when any crisis pops up (and there have been plenty), or when everyday life starts to make me tumble into catastrophic thinking. Add some PTSD to the mix and I can make myself crazy. No more wine, beer, and I gave up the hard stuff . My biological clock changed too..I get up at 7 am now and sleep 8 full hours. Not bad. I can also take naps. I am also learning not to rush too much thru life. Just take my time, and stay away from mean people, or people who judge. Im somewhat of a hermit now, but I dont mind. It feels safe.

1. Good deal, Mari
That drinking can put a lot of stress on you mentally as well as physically. I know when I drink I don't feel so good the next day. My guess is as time goes on you'll get to feeling better and better.

2. I will admit
Since I've been broke and not drinking so much...I feel better. mentaly and physically. I don't have odd mood swings and anxiety attacks as much.

Congrats Mari - good choice

4. I stopped drinking alcohol, too!
I'm happy for you that you are feeling so well. The key to my life is exercise and since I'm basically lazy ..it takes a lot for me to get out there and run. And now with winter coming up it's even more hard!
