Help, computer advice desperately needed!
I got a new desk today, moved my computer, had to disconnect everything. When I turned it back on, the display is on 480X640. I can't change it; I right click the desktop, go to settings, where the little thingy is that lets you change the resolution, but it just won't move. Help.

2. Check your...
Device manager, see if it is showing any conflicts. I would say, though, that something is hooked up wrong. Is this a flat panel or CRT monitor?

3. Recheck all connections
what did you want it set on? Some monitors have max resolutions, do you remember your last settings?
Also try setting in the control panel display.

4. Giggle the video cable at both ends.
Usually the color resolution downsizes automatically as you increase the screen area.

Try setting color on 256. Then slide the screen area slide switch again.

Did you come up in Safe Mode?

Was your monitor power on while you booted the computer?

5. locking this dupe
continue your helpful troubleshooting of patcox2's resolution issue here:

my two cents: check to see where you plugged the monitor into the computer. I wonder if you don't have two video imports, one soldered to the board and one aftermarket vid card.

Thanks
