On Survivor....what do the women do about |
|
their monthly cycle? If they are not voted off, they are on the island for 39 days...every 28 days a woman should have her period....
So, do they take depo provera injections so they don't have a period while they are on Survivor or what? I cannot imagine being in those situations and on my period!

1. I've wondered that myself |
|
I would do something to make sure I didn't have to worry about it. Either the shot, or take the pill without a break.

I'm gonna guess they are still allowed to take medicine and if women keep taking the pill (the real ones and skip the placebo ones) then most women won't get their period.

6. It works in a similar manner as skipping the placebo |
|
pills in your pack. I used to skip the placebo years ago w/ my doctors permission. I recently called Planned Parenthood about the new pills out and they said that it worked in a similar manner.

4. They provide tampons in their first aid kits. |
|
On one season one of the contestants(male, I believe) unrolled them and used them for tp. But some do use depo as a way to stop them. Others quit having them d/t excessive weight loss. Deena on Amazon talked about it after the show.

7. There is NO way I'd want to deal with it out there |

It's a pain in the ass with modern conveniences - of course my last time involved a trip to the hospital - so I'm all for avoiding them.

Talk to your doctor about skipping the placebo week. I had a doctor who would let me do that for about two years straight and then I had to go to taking it for a year. It's easy and it's cheap.

11. They don't all have placebo weeks |
|
I'm not usually on the pill. My body naturally skips months, which I like - but occasionally I get walloped. I'm on the pill now, because I'm not ready for another one for several months.

But many have that classic week on them so that you can menstruate.

programs that they sometimes skip one or two due to the food and water situation. Also, some former contestant said that by about day 4 you seriously cut down on BMs.
But it would be horrible.

8. It wouldn't surprise me if the relative starvation and physical stress of |

the month would render many or most of the premenopausal women amenorrheic during that time (no period). Happens to athletes and such frequently.
