9. He was awesome
(and it seems that I won't have to wait a year ;-) )

The media was terrible - wanted to hear from everyone that the one reason to listen to him is Anti-Americanism. Quite a few even went along for their 3 minutes on live TV. The Organisation was a mess to - I guess it's because his German publisher isn't used to stars: the location was way too small and the security-people weren't first grade.

Mike did not talk about America - not just that is. He told about his views on the European problems, the Old/New stuff etc. .Some of which were a little naïve, but who am I to complain…

The one point (well actually there were more, but that one was out of line IMHO) was, when he made fun of Denmark’s contribution to the war; I mean: a Danish soldier died - I don't think it OK to ridicule their effort. Ill-guided as it may be.

On the bright side: he did tell about being converted to soccer/football and that he would go to Austria next week and kick their Ass. (Job for Skittles? ) He wants them to pay for Arnold.

Other than that: he answered a question regarding his problems with Kucinich and why he might support a General (although he doesn't want to). He dodged the (sole) representative of the *IHOP crowd and the faith questions, as well as the entertainment vs. information issue.

Finally he got a lot of Kudos of keeping the signing session going until every book was signed - the publisher's guys tried to shut it down (with me being the first left over btw) and he made them (and himself) continue.

I think all these cameos by celebrities on the Simpsons are stupid and not funny at all.

I think it was much funnier when the celebrities would voice OTHER characters like Michael Jackson voiced that guy who thought he was MJ. Or Donald Sutherland voiced that museum guy.

Lamest ever was when Backstreet boys and N'sync appeared.

3. Yeah, but the Springfield Files was a classic
not truly a celeb episode, but it was still the best...

7. I liked the one with Lucy Lawlis
where she got kidnapped by the comic book guy.

"Wait a minute... Xena can't fly."

"I told you, I'm not Xena. I'm Lucy Lawlis."

4. I sort of liked Stephen Hawking as himself
when he saved Lisa from the elitist nerds and the illiterate townsfolk..

6. some are ok
When the celebrity actualy has some kind of storyline behind his appearance it's ok. But when they just appaer to apear it's stupid

5. They are hit or miss....
There have been some funny ones. The Stephen Hawking one was classic ("Yeah! Larry Flynt is right. You guys suck!"). The Jasper Johns one and the Stephen Jay Gould were also pretty excellent.

When it's odd, irreverent celebs it's funny. But when it tries too hard to be topical or trendy like N'Sync or Kid Rock or the Lollapalooza one from a few years back, then I tend to agree with you.

8. I kinda liked the Kid Rock one
Homer: "Beeyoch? Moi?"

And cruising through the everglades on a fanboat singing "We Built this City on Rock and Roll"

Funny shit.
