Poll question: Do long URLs drive ya nuts?
Is it just me? If the URL is so long that I have to scroll back and forth to read the post, I usually just skip it. The scrolling back and forth makes me dizzy. But I'm sure I'm missing a lot of good stuff because of that.

Is there a polite way I can ask people to use HTML for long links? The reason for HTML rather than tinyurl.com is that with HTML you don't have to click on the link to find the source of the article, you can just point at it.

I don't want to be the Long Link Police, but it really does influence which threads and posts I read. But if it's just me, I'll shut up about it.

3. I know how to do it. :)
My point is that, as Mika said, the instructions are available in "message options" when you're writing your post, and it takes just a few extra seconds to make the whole post more readable.

6. Either
nobody is reading my posts, or I'm not making myself clear. I mentioned tinyurl.com in the original post.

Just to clarify what my problem is, I know how to use HTML to make links like this. Other people apparently don't, and when their URLs are really long it screws up the whole post, and I have to scroll left to right to read it. Which I would rather not do, because it makes me dizzy. I was trying to find out if I'm the only one bothered by this.

9. I know what you mean.......
Likewise with jpg's too. Throws off the orientation of the whole thread. I usually don't proceed any further when I have to scroll left & right.
