Halloween is near: Anyone have a personal ghost story?
Someone (Maybe Maddy McCall?) posted this last year and it was a fantastic thread. Are there anymore spooky stories from DUers this year?

4. I don't know if this qualifies,
but in my first apt. rental, I used to hear whispering coming from the closet when I was trying to sleep at night.

A few times I would just say something like, "...please be quiet, I need to sleep," and it would stop.

5. I do.
I'll tell them later on-I'm getting ready for bed now.
I do have to admit that most of my experiences happened while heavily under the influence of something or another.

6. Which story do you want? Ghosts seem to seek me out, despite my
aversion to them.

People who have passed come to me in dreams a lot, for one, and give me messages. The best one was my mother who came to me in a dream and let me know that my daughter was pregnant. I called my daughter the next morning to tell her of my dream and she told me that I was nuts. Fifteen minutes later she called me back and told me that "grandma was right"...she had a leftover old pregnancy test in her closet, and decided to check, "just in case."

He is now four years old.

8. Years ago when I was working at Kmart over the summer...
... my co-workers and I were doing a sweep of the store before it closed to make sure there weren't any customers still in the building. While I was walking through the bath and beauty aisles I saw a very blond, older, overweight woman in a Hawaiian shirt walking down to the end of an aisle. I yelled "Ma'am, we are closing the store. You need to make your purchase because we will be closed in about five minutes." but she kept walking and ignored me. So I walked closer and said "Ma'am. Did you here me? We will be closing the store in about five minutes." but she still made no motion that she heard me. She continued to walk to the end of the aisle and turned the corner.

By this time I was pissed because the day before I had some asshole ignore me and then when I told him he needed to make his final selections he dumped over a display. So with that frame of mind I walked quickly towards the end of the aisle and turned to direction the woman had turned only she wasn't there. I looked around down different aisles but there was no sign of her. Annoyed I paged loss prevention to do a sweep of the area to see if the could find her and I gave them her description. There was a pause and then a little chuckle and I asked what was so funny. The loss prevention person said "Oh trust me, she ain't in the building anymore." and I asked how they knew because I had just seen her. "Because she's been dead for about 6 years." they replied, "You've just chased the blond haired shopper. She's a ghost."

Apparently from the woman had been a regular shopper at the Kmart for years and would always bring her grandkids along with her to shop on the weekends. One weekend while she was shopping in the bath and beauty section she suffered a massive stroke and died before the paramedics could arrive. We don't know if it is because she is looking for her grandkids or because she always loved shopping at Kmart but her ghost hangs out in the store. She has been sighted by about everyone who has worked there. She never tries to scare anyone, she just walks around.

I hated it when I would spend 8 hours a day there.
