The Vikings are playing up to their usual quality today... |

Two turnovers in their first two drives. I don't want to watch the rest of this game. EDIT: Subject line didn't make much sense.

I'm holding my breath as the Packers play the Bucs. Starting off okay for Green Bay, but that could change at any moment.

3. Funny thing is, I like the Packers |
|
Don't know why, but the rivalry never seemed interesting to me. I'd rather just see the Vikings get to the damn playoffs again. And stop being so inconsistent. If they can't get in, then go Packers. Or Lions. (Yeah, right) Heck, even the Bears. (Check the temp in Hades before that one) Weird, huh?

8. I've been impressed with how quickly the Vikings |
|
have turned things around in a postive direction over last year.
I also enjoy watching Randy Moss play -- he is a freak of nature.
Hovan cracks me up too!

2. Vikings are the Red Sox of Football |
|
They are incapable of coming through in the clutch. My prediction record-wise - 7-9.
And given how pathetic the division is, that might get them in the playoffs

11. 7-9 with upcoming games against Detroit and Arizona??? |
|
I think 10-6 is likely if we win today. A division title is a good shot if we win and the Puke loses.

every year I swear them off. every year, I'm just going to spend my sunday afternoons doing productive things and never, ever, even tune in to find out the score... ...then they win a few games, or thrash a couple of really good teams, and i am pulled back in, like Pacino in "Godfather III," and i get hooked, and then they ALWAYS collapse in some embarrassing fashion.
when will it end?

5. I feel your pain...believe me |
|
I have been a Vikings fan since I was 7 years old...I'm 42 now. I have an autographed picture of Gary Cuozzo on my wall for cryin out loud. Every single STINKIN year they figure out some way to throw it away. I am convinced it is one of the laws of nature that they will choke. It is out of their control. That thought has given me some peace.

6. Let's buy 'em a new stadium, then they'll improve! |
|
Pawlenty wants to support the overly-wealthy sports people despite our grim budget that has left many people suffering.
What if this is a gambit on their part? Mike Tyco or whatever his name is said he wants to move the vikes out if he doesn't get his stadium. So let them go. They make the money and the government shouldn't get involved with such bribery at taxpayers' expense.

7. But, but, but...St Paul has a new stadium for the Wild! |
|
And the city's doing just fine! No, wait. No it isn't. Funny thing about all that is, Pawlenty cuts education budgets, then wants to build a stadium, levys go up all over the place for the elections, and my friends, who vote repuke all the time, voted "no" on the levy.
But enough of that. The Vikes just kicked a fieldgoal. yay.

12. The Twins need a new ballpark NOW. The Vikes can wait until the lease ends |
|
If anyone in the Twin Cities needs a new facility, it's the Twins. seriously. I think that with the new turf they're putting in the Dome in March, the Vikings will be fine with it until 2011. It'll be an adequate football stadium until then.

Twins need it worse...and at least they win a championship once in a while.

They almost always play to the level of the opposing team.
