OMG! My boyfriend saved 3 people this morning! |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-16-03 06:10 PM by Padraig18
He was on patrol about 6:00 this morning when a call came in reporting a house on fire. He was only 3/4 mile away and went to the scene, arriving in under 2 minutes. When he got there, the house was ablaze, the windows blown out, etc., and a woman was screaming that her husband and 2 kids were inside. Tony grabbed a blanket and fire extinguisher from his patrol car's trunk and enterd the house. He found the man and the 2 kids semi-conscious and managed (he doesn't even quite know how) to drag all 3 of them out of the house to safety, where they regained consciousness; all 3 are now hospitalized in fair condition at the local hospital, suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
Tony 'ate some smoke' and singed his eyebrows and hair, and he looks like he has a bad sunburn, but he's OK; what he's more upset about is that the fire apparently started when a crystal meth lab blew up. He's very angry that 2 adults would endanger two kids just to make meth.
Film at 11:00.

It's great to hear there are real hero's out there. Have to agree with your boyfriend that it is an absolute shame and crime what those adults did to those kids

5. Sorta puts one of the myths about gay men to the lie. |
|
I've often heard uninformed people say that gay men are 'weak/sissies, etc.', and I think this puts to rest any doubts about that. :)

fought. Funny how "Gays in the Military" is not a problem when there's a shooting war. Once the war's over is a different matter...
Congratulations to your boyfriend!
P.S: B/t/w, as you no doubt know, the most notable gay soldier in history was Alexander the Great.

I've hardly let go of him for a few hours. :)
PS-- I asked him why he did it and he said, "I couldn't not try, Pat; I couldn't just let them burn up without trying to save them."
The big lug. :P

Tell him that he's a true hero. It doesn't take a gun to be a hero, and I think he just proved it. He has something he can be really, really proud of.

I give your significant other 2 thumbs up. I'll bet he smells great eh? The smoke smell gets in your pores and it takes a couple of showers to make it go away. Lots of times people who do heroic things just do it on instinct with little thought to their personal safety. The man deserves a medal.

He is a true hero! I hope some of the posters, who wrote incredibly nasty thigs about Cops and firefighters druing the whole Mumia debate read this. Here is an example of how our country's public servants put their life on the line to save others. Congrats to Tony! Here is one on me :toast:

Like everyone else, they have a job to do; sadly, most of us encounter them under less-than-pleasant circumstances. :)
