My birthday was yesterday and it pretty much was just another day with an avalanche of problems. My mother is in the hospital (she's doing better today, my SO has a periodontal abcess (still a problem; antibiotics haven't kicked in yet) and we're surgeon shopping for me. So, today, while leaving the house I dug my camera out of my shoulder bag, sat down in the mudroom in front of a streaky old mirror that's going into permanent storage, and took a picture. My gift to all the freepers who database pictures of all us evil libruls for "future reference".

And, no, I do not color my hair. It's shot with silver very lightly. I like it.

I'm 53 too. Married to a younger man - he's 51! :)

Hope you find a good surgeon. If you are in the SoCal area I have a couple of great physician friends who may be able to offer a referral.

In fact my son's GF had brain surgery at UCLA just three weeks ago. She came in from Baton Rouge to have the procedure. If you are from out of the area they have accomodations at a discount rate for the family when you undergo treatment there and the docs are first rate!
