6. I'll take Journey over Britney anyday. Things are better now? |
|
'Britney' is a generalized term for corporate schlock. You know, what Journey was accused of being, though they never were.
I'm no fan of Journey, by the way, but they were real musicians and they wrote their own music.

|
Some of their stuff is really classic. Come on, "Anyway You Want It" is ROCKIN!
And "Stand By Me" really IS a song for people on the road... just a wonderful, classic love song. Love those guys... Didn't Jimmy Iovine do most of their producing and writing? He's really a genuine talent with an astounding repertoire of writing.

Rock on!

no matter what anyone says, put them in a crowded bar with an 80s cover band and see if they don't at least smile when they start playing Don't Stop Believin'. I believe its scientifically possible. I've been there, and I thought I hated Journey too.

45. even though i was a punker in the 80's....... |
|
i still kept a couple of journey CASSETTES in the glove box....the girls always loved journey.....and it was really difficult to make out to the dead kennedy's or MOD.....
"doooan stop...beeee-lee-eeee van..." "hooold on to thaaaa feeee-liiiiine yah-aaaa-aaaaaa" "streeeeeet-a-lites, peee-o-pullll-wooo-oooo-ooooohhhhh---yeaaaahhhh!!!"
my ex-wife used to dedicate "Faithfully" to me.....guess she felt hypocritical for cheating on me during the marraige, because that changed to that whitney houston version of "i will always love you", i guess because i was a gluton for punishment...in the end my song to her was "separate ways(worlds apart)...it was very fitting.
Someday love will find you Break those chains that bind you One night will remind you How we touched And went our separate ways.....
their early stuff was OK, but i was never a big fan either...a bit to polished for my tastes at the time.
......AND LAY OFF THE FOO FIGHTERS!!!!!anything that pisses courtney love off can't be all bad.....

Fans of today's popular contemporary music have to face the fact that their favorite pop/rock bands will be lucky to be flipping burgers at the retirement home in thirty years. Unlike the much maligned bands of the 80s that are still recording and touring today.
