Did your pet do anything funny today?
When my parrot was a youngster, he was attacked by a strawberry. He used to live in a dome-shaped cage and I used to offer new items and treats by sticking them on a bar near the top. I applied a strawberry in this manner and Gabby spent the better part of half an hour displaying at it, creeping up on it, looking at it with first one eye then the other. Finally, he approached it from below and just as he was getting ready to touch it with his beak, it slid down the bar straight at him.

Gabby was so terrified he fell backward off the cage, screaming. He hasn't gone near a strawberry since. As far as he's concerned, all berries are suspect.

Today I was eating some frozen blackberries and he kept begging and begging. The one I gave him had some red on it...hmmm, how suspiciously strawberry-like. Once he'd worked up the courage, he grabbed it in his beak and tossed it across the room. :)

That'll teach me to try to foist suspicious berries on him!

1. My good-for-nothing cats took turns waking me up every half hour
starting at 3 am. Then, when I released outdoor cat at 5 am the indoor cat made a bolt, so I had to go cat-chasing outside in my pjs.

So no, they didn't do anything funny - no treats for them!

2. Well, I went to clean the kitty box,
and one of the kitties was lying down in there, all relaxed and everything. She isn't sick or anything -- she just likes private places. I know plenty of people who hide in the bathroom, after all. Hey, I guess it means my kitty box isn't stinky! :)

3. Fargo
grabbed Molly's wrinkled up paper ball on the floor. He took it in his room on his bed, then proceeded to evilly shred it with his mouth and his paws.

It's pretty funny to watch. He's pretty mellow except when he attacks his paper or barks at the dogs that pass the window. Then he gets all worked up.
