DU'ers with wood-burning fireplaces: I have to share these pics with you>
Sometimes I buy those starter logs when I don't feel like messing around with real wood. Today I found some firelogs that have color-changing flames!!! THIS IS SO COOL! They burn for about 3 hours, and cost about 3.50 each.

5. They are made by Pine Mountain, and I think they are available most
everywhere. This is just the first time I've seen the color changing ones.

8. There is a faint odor of paraffin, but if you have a fan to circulate the
air, or you crack a window you can barely notice it.

I think some of the really cheap logs may have a stronger odor, but these are really clean burning.

10. When I was a kid, my mom made special pine cones that did that
for Christmas every year. She soaked them in something. We'd add them to the fire, and they were really cool.

12. this old guy who ran a campground took a 6in piece of copper pipe, and
put a piece of garden hose inside it and put it on the fire.

burned every color of the rainbow.

of course, you wouldn't want to cook on the fire after that.

for entertainment purposes ONLY!!!!!

Now you don't wanna be roasting marshmallows over that fire because of all the yucky chemicals.

Jeez, can you tell I'm a mom? :eyes:
