my brother in Hawaii just found me on the internet... |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 02:15 AM by fleabert
shows how small and large it really is...
I am on myspace, have been for all of one week, and did not tell him about it (he's in the Navy and we hear from him infrequently, like twice a year). and today, I get a new friend request from him.
I seriously doubt he was looking for me...he's just too absentminded to think of that, and too concerned with hooking up with chicks to think to look for his half-sister! so that means he just stumbled upon my pic or something.
I think that's cool, and a little freaky
edit: I just saw how that looks on the front page, looks really exciting, like we were long lost siblings, sorry! :-) totally not on purpose, but I will leave it like that to see if it gets some attention. (i am not above that...)

2. I would always give you attention.... |
|
I am glad about your half brother....
Having the person in your family without the ability to care or worry about loved ones until something outside of their sphere brings them back is all too common....
And that is why I am excited for you...

I worry about him constantly. I never know where his ship is, and there is the constant threat that he could go to the middle east, I know his being in the navy is somewhat comforting- at least he will never go to Iraq... but remember the ship in yemen? yikes. He also tells me that he could go to N. Korea at any time. I worry alot, without him ever being able to tell me until after. :scared:
he's a great kid... not even a kid anymore, he's 22 and has a kid himself! but he's still my baby brother.

I met a girl last weekend at a bar in Milwaukee that lives three blocks away from me in Chicago. Totally randomly, too.
I guess that makes up for the string of bad luck I've been having. :-)

we once ran into one of my dh's former seasonal employees in a museum in Madrid. We were there last minute and she was a student, totally just passed by each other in a main hallway.

I never even use MySpace, but a couple of times I got random friends requests from people I know that shouldn't know I even use MySpace.

except when it comes to politics! One brother is an anarchist...in the navy (long story) the other is a senior in HS and is a Bushbot, the third is about to turn 16 and looks like he's following in middle brother's footsteps. and me...the oldest, a huge feminist and liberal!
what a family!

17. How cool he reached out for you! And yes, a little freaky too..... |
|
I love to pay attention to you, you know!
I got a very good pic of you..and as soon as I get it downloaded, I will send it to you...
NV burned a CD for me; I could NOT download it; my husband (who has a Mac) was able to download it.....
Now he's sending me the pics, one at a time...more than that takes forever, or something like that...
SO: when yours gets here, I will send it! And you will love it....
It is such a beautiful pic.......of a beautiful lady.......
Glad things are a little better for you, my dear .......

I can't wait to see it, it might just be the best picture of me ever taken, if it's as good as you say! ;-) I still haven't gotten him to write me, but I am pushing ever so gently!
 to you too darlin'!

18. Hey, my SO Polly's family just found her today after 40-odd years |
|
It's a small world and sometimes a very synchronistic one. John This internet thingie can be very cool. And staying in touch with the family is, usually, a good thing.
