For all of you in DC on 9/24, who went home with a cold afterwards?
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2005/10/18/tularemia/index.html

I know, it's highly unlikely any of us came down with tularemia but I find it interesting that so many of us who were in DC came down with something soon after they returned home. I know mine couldn't have been tulermia because I was sick on Saturday and there is a few days incubation period. But I was also on antibiotic so if there was any of those tularemia buggers in me the antibiotic would have killed it.

So just out of curiousity - did anyone else end up getting sick right after they were at the protest in DC on 9/24?

1. LynneSin
I called the CDC - Tularemia hits the same day you are exposed.

2. According to that article at Salon there's a few days incubation
Or it just could affect everyone differently.

I still don't think I had tulermia but that article kinda frightens me that there is a possibility that I could have had it. But why would terrorists attack the people who are trying to stop the war against them?

Or.......nah, that's just to :tinfoilhat: to even go down that path

3. The article is wrong.
I still have the doctor's name around here somewhere. He asserted that - anyone exposed to 'rabbit flu' would come down with the symptoms almost immediately and would become progressively worse until treated.

4. I went home with no problems..of course
I am exposed on a daily basis in my job so I have probably built up immunities that others don't have in their systems.

6. i came down with something the next w/e. but i chalk that up to being
in being exposed to a massive amount of threats - a large crowd, using port-a-potties, staying in hotel rooms - could've picked it up anywhere...

9. thank you for having common sense!
it's called being in a major city with hundreds of thousands of other people, people!! there were both the protests AND the nat'l book festival that weekend. not to mention a good deal of alcohol consumption, which doesn't help your immune system one bit! oh yeah, and nasty weather too.

same thing happened to me after being in Paris for a while....i swear, some peeps have those :tinfoilhat: on a bit too tight...

7. Just seasonal sinus trouble--but I wondered...
There must have been some kind of cold bugs or something else though...considering all the people who reported diverse ailments.

Maybe it was mass allergic reactions to the Bush regime...

10. Well, I was there, and I live in DC.
I figured it was just sinuses, normal for me, but everybody else getting sick makes me wonder.

12. I came down with a cold starting on 09/28
And I've been sick ever since . It seemed to be letting up a little and then it got worse again last week, settling deep in my chest and making me quite miserable. Of course the fact that I was in Provincetown and it was chilly and rainy the entire time didn't help I'm sure.
