What made you decide to create your current sig line?
Mine is a quote from a Dav Pilkey book called When Cats Dream. The book is charming, but that line . . . it warms me, and always makes me smile. I imagine my Harry, swimming with the fishes, absolutely loving it -- and seeing his little white socks fall off, revealing gray stripes all the way to his claws.

Tell us about your sig line. :)

after the Admins made some recent changes. The scrolling marquee "Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry" no longer worked. This one I have now seems applicable enough anyhow.

34. I'm lovin' it!
Although for the past 2 days it's been more like Seattle than LA. Rainy and cold. What's up with that? ;) As a native Midwesterner, I'm having fun laughing at the SoCalers who are wearing GOOSE DOWN coats...in 65 degree weather.

I've only been here for a week, but seriously, I absolutely love it. I have moments of culture shock, but most of the time I have this silly grin on my face. Even when stuck on the 405, or sitting next to a rather creepy fellow on the Metro. It's all part of the charm. :)

32. I was trying to convince a friend to see Fahrenheit 9/11- he hates Moore
and I said he had to see the film first. I tried to paraphrase the last few lines of the film which I quote pieces of in my sig line.

Here is the whole thing courtesy of IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361596/quotes

Narrator: Not a single member of Congress wanted to sacrifice their child for the war in Iraq. And who could blame them? Who would want to give up their child? Would you?

Narrator: Would he? I've always been amazed that the very people forced to live in the worst parts of town, go to the worst schools, and who have it the hardest are always the first to step up, to defend us. They serve so that we don't have to. They offer to give up their lives so that we can be free. It is remarkably their gift to us. And all they ask for in return is that we never send them into harm's way unless it is absolutely necessary. Will they ever trust us again?

37. Because I feel it is one of the first truths of our existence.
In part I must admit that it was out of some sadness. I'm not on DU as much as I used to be and there are many, if not most, people who truly are well-intentioned, decent people. On some level though, I'm saddened. I've personally seen people I've tried to be polite with to the best of my ability, in some cases for a very long period of time, direct repeated snide remarks toward me. Nothing worthy of being banned or anything, just rude and cowardly. Generally, I just brush it off because it just doesn't matter enough to waste the energy. However, I've seen levels of this toward others as well. When I think of what it means to be a liberal/progressive human being, I think it means to be considerate of your fellow humans on a greater level. I don't claim to be a perfect person, but I do not intentionally inflict harm on others and am nothing if not genuine.

People need to remember the humanity of the people behind these computer screens.

39. When I first joined DU, I didn't have a sig line...just my username
was displayed.

I started reading other people's siglines, and realized that I could do something interesting.

I'd read mine a VERY long time ago, as a girl, and it had always inspired me.

It is a perfect fit for me, and what I want to be for myself, and for anyone who encounters me, either here on DU, or out in the so-called real world.

I hope it has helped make me a better person than I would otherwise be.

41. Homey D. Clown
Homey D. Clown, played by Damon Wayans, was one of the most popular characters on one of the best sketch comedy shows ever made, In Living Color. He was an ex-con who became a clown doing children's parties, etc. but was always ranting about The Man. There was this bunch of bad ass little kids that used to always mess with him, but he carried this black tube sock around and used to beat him in the head with it, usually saying his catchphrase ("Homey don't play that!").

Well when Howard Dean became head of the DNC for some bizarre reason (probably too much sugar and watching ILC DVDs) I had visions of Dean slapping Repukes upside the head with a sock. :)

and one of many personal heroes of mine who I support damn near unequivocally. I was influenced by the skepticism that many display at the effectiveness of exercising our right to protest peaceably. Not to mention that this was a man who was FAR ahead of so many others in regards to both racial equality and women's rights.
