Today, I saw "The Laramie Project" at a GLBT film festival |
|
Since I don't have HBO, it was my first opportunity to see the film. And boy, am I glad I went! Powerful stuff, man.

2. I can't recommend it highly enough |
|
But make sure you have plenty of tissue as you will need it. It is phenominal. Very, very powerful. If I could, I would post what I did shortly after seeing it but it is on DU1 and we can't search there.

Rudy, Old Yeller and Hoosiers. I didn't cry at Bowling for Columbine I just felt really disgusted with mankind in general.

3. Yes, it is not just one of these films that |
|
you "should" see out of a grim duty.
It's a powerful experience that builds to the end.

6. I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen the play |
|
I took my 19-year-old daughter (whose roommates happen to be a lesbian couple) to see the play last year. It was amazing. Great acting and SUCH a horribly sad story - and so much more painful, given the fact that it's a true story. Both of us cried a great plenty (of course, we cry at anything, so what else is new?)

7. I watch that movie every time it's on HBO |
|
and I end up crying my eyes out.
It's an incredible story - very moving, very powerful.
HBO did well with this - no wonder it's the best network out there and worth every penny.
(ps - don't even get me started on 'And the Band Played On'. First I weep passionately then I get angry at hell at Ronald Reagan for refusing to do anything)
