Was the weather as sad and depressing down there as it was in Vancouver this weekend?

4. It's been wet, windy and cold. |
|
But I sort of like that, so, nope on the 'depressing.'

6. nah after 24 years I'm used to the rain |
|
I missed it when I lived in the Maritmes for a year and winter only brought snow. I can deal with rain...it's the DARKNESS that comes with serious rainclouds that gets me! ;(

7. I lived in Newfoundland for a year and LOVED it, fog, snow and all. |
|
I love storms, but the storm we had in Seattle wasn't worth mentioning. No big deal.

9. Argentia. I was stationed at the military base Farley Mowat |
|
referenced in his book, "A Whale for the Killing." I learned to play hockey there. The only really cool blizzards I've seen in my life were in my native South Dakota and Newfoundland, save for one in northern Alaska.

11. It's next to Dunville and Placentia. Stephenville doesn't sound familiar. |
|
During World War II, Argentia was an enormous base. All unmarried personnel now stay in a building that used to house just officers - or did so when I was stationed there more than 20 years ago. It was like an enclosed city - especially during blizzards.

12. It was wonderful in Seattle this weekend! |
|
Saturday: rain, rain, rain, sat in hottub with geniph, rain, rain rain, met Aristus for drinks.
Sunday: rain, rain, rain, sat in hottub with geniph, rain, rain, rain
We love taking daytime hottubs when it's cold and rainy. It feels so decadent.

14. It's cracked out in Ellensburg |
|
It should be in the upper 20's to mid 30's on a daily basis with plenty of wind, but for some reason, it's only dropped below freezing a couple times, and it's rained at least once a week.
It's messed up. This time last year, it was absolutely freezing and clear every day. The only odd thing about last year was that it didn't snow a whole lot. It feels like Seattle here right now, which is not normal.

15. I remember that all too well. Yuk |

I lived on the NW Pacific coast for 7 years and it almost made me suicidal. I really love the people and the mountains up there, but the rain is a killer. I now live in the warmest, driest, sunniest place I could find because of that experience.

16. Just average November weather... |
|
...some rain, generally cloudy, a sunbreak or two. Nothing very distinctive.
