How many people here...
... find their work utterly demotivating? I do. I can't stand it. I get no pleasure from it at all. In the morning I'm waiting for lunchtime. After lunch I'm waiting for home time. The people I work with are total cowards and appear to love their chains. They display no solidarity whatsoever. There are one or two individuals I respect for their intelligence, sense of humour, or individuality and stroppiness. The rest appear to be cattle. It's a bloody nightmare! It's a good job I can laugh, otherwise I would cry.

1. Do you work with people....
who throw hissy fits/temper tantrums and have serious mental problems? Have people who get to sleep on the job and then get overtime? People who can't do squat yet YOU get targeted by incompetent managers who get on your case because handling 3 or 4 desks somehow isn't good enough? :)

:) I'm not bitter of course, just understanding you all too clearly. :hi: :)

5. I've just found I'm in a huge rut.
I'm just living the day-to-day drudgery. I'd actually rather be really busy with projects, but I'm not.

It leaves me plenty of time to play here, which is nice, but I like being busy, and I like the feeling that my job is important. I'm not getting that now. But, I'm employed, and that's a good thing.

Anyone want to hire me and save me from this drudgery? :D

8. We should run away from home.
Hop in the car, get your ass over to my building, and we'll go live on the beach in Mexico. I'll find myself a cute cabana boy named Raul or Ramone and you can sip Mai Tais surrounded by lovely, dark women in teenie bikinis. :-)

9. Sounds good.
Get your retirement statement? How depressing was THAT?! I can retire July 31, 2020. :-(

11. Didn't check the mail this weekend.
Didn't feel like dealing with it if it was bills. *sigh*

Don't wanta know how long I have to wait to retire. I'm hoping I'll build a better mousetrap or win the lottery or come up with the next great marketing scam WAY before then. :-)

12. Hey...we get the new multi-state lottery soon.
woo woo woo :eyes:

I'd like to go down in history as the last person to win the Texas Lottery. Yes, indeed, that would be nice. Of course...I almost never play...

13. You can't win...
if you don't play. :eyes: (Do they still even use that slogan anymore?)

Anyway, my work is incredibly demotivating today. I have a meeting in an hour and a half that I have to present at and I'm playing on DU instead of finishing writing up what I'm gonna say. Bad state employee...no donut.

The weather is effecting my mood too. I have almost NOTHING going on today...how demotivating is that? Blah!

15. Poor Baby
I'm in touch. The weather makes my knees throb. (Old basketball injuries - I can predict the weather.) I think every joint in my body popped when I got outta bed this morning.

Are we getting old? :-( And crotchety? ;-)

17. Hee...
I'll remember that from now on when things look bleak. It could be worse...I could get hit by a tornado. :-)

19. Been there; done that. Not pleasant.
Strangely, it was the most quiet and the loudest moments in my life - within a minute or so.

20. Me too...
I've had 3 different tornados come within a mile of where I was. Once in Oklahoma when I was little - missed us by a couple of blocks (that one left me afraid of storms for years). Had one miss my elementary school by about a half mile. Then another missed my junior high by about a quarter of a mile. I hate tornados.

My mom had one knock a tree over on the door of her family's storm cellar when she was a kid. She was not the most reassuring person to be around during storms either.

Hey, now I understand why everyone calls you a "thread-jacking asshole". And I'm starting to think it's contagious. :-)

*cue applause*

I'll pass on having a more challenging job if it means I get to spend more time online playing. :-)

6. I work in Example from "THE PETER PRINCIPLE."
My boss is so stupid that he brought me in to discuss an article I left in the copy room regarding how incompetent managers are psychologically incapable of performing good self- or employee evaluations.

He thought that the article made some good points, and he said he was a victim of this, not knowing that the article could have been written with him as the object.

Clueless, unpleasant rePuke morons. Not 10 people out of 300+ with brain one. Hell on Earth.
