I'm a Papa again!
Well, we did it. We got two new cats. We didn't really plan to do this so soon after Mickey passed, but when love hits ya .....

There are 3 and half months old one tabby (looks like Mickey) and one solid black (looks like my partners late cat Mongo). We've named them Ricco (tabby) and Cosmo (the black cat). They're brothers and so far they're a little shy. It's going to be fun seeing which cat takes to who. So far Ricco is less shy than his brother and had let us hold him a bit. Cosmo is VERY vocal and meowed a lot last night.

Soon as they settle in a bit, I'll be dragging out the camera and video for baby pics.

In some ways I feel a bit guilty like I'm "cheating" on Mickey but I couldn't pass these boys up.

I love cat rescue people, they took very good care of them.

Ahhh the joys of kittens. Can't wait to see what they tore up when I get home from work.

2. Cheating?
Not in the least. I think your fur-friend would be right proud of his parents.

Congrats on the family addition!

3. Congratulations!
You're not cheating on Mickey at all; in fact, adopting two kittens is a loving tribute to his memory.

I tend to think that when cats pass on, they direct other cats to their old homes because they had such happy lives there. That you now have two new kittens just says how much Mickey enjoyed his life with you.

11. No kiddin'?
We had list of names and went back and forth. Cosmo's name was the first, but it took us a while and multiple phones calls to friends to figure out the other one. My neighbor was chattin' with on our deck and he came up with "Rocco". We almost named the other one that, but settled on Ricco.

When they get used to us, I'm gonna call for them "YO!!! Ricco" "YO!! Cosmo!" My two Italian kitties.

18. We stuck w/ a Seinfeld theme
We used to have a cat named Newman. We had to put him down back in January. When we got the new kitten, my son suggested "Kramer" but I thought Kramer sounded like a dog's name, so then my son said..."What was Kramer's first name?" Cosmo it is!

20. I gave them middle names as well.
Cosmo Politan Selby-Marshall & Ricco Suave Selby-Marshall.

So I'm gonna have one that's a drunk and the other one a slut. :silly:

10. That's great Ronny! I got two new babies too!
Got Boris and Natasha on Saturday! They are 1.5 year old Border Collies, just like Rocky was. When I found them on the Border Collie rescue site and saw their names I knew it was a sign as Rocky was named after the same cartoon.

They are total sweethearts! Calm, gentle, affectionate and adorable! They are brother and sister and Natasha is pretty much the boss so Boris is kind of shy but he's coming around. They weren't mistreated, their former owner moved to NYC and couldn't take them with him. It's so nice having some commotion around here again :-) .

Here's to us and our new babies! :toast: :bounce:

16. I'll post some soon - promise!
It's funny but they kind of fit their names. Tasha is sort of svelte and Boris is a stocky little dude - lol. She has a skinny nose and is longer and he has a squatty nose and is shorter in length.

21. They're still hiding
Ricco is a little more social and has come out from behind the coach a few times. Cosmo is still scared, but has poked his head out a few times. Can't wait until they get over the new place. They are eating, drinking and making use of the litter box. But they still are scared.
