3. On the map the guy pointed to an area that looked like it was sw of
Houston about 10 miles. It is blowing cars off the hwy right now.

Let me flip over to weather channel and see what they say. What I just saw was on cnn.

That's not so good...

I can see Hwy 59 SW from my 22nd floor cubicle. I'll keep an eye out for the funnels and one foot toward the stairwell...

11. Your quite welcome...
from what I can gather, the tornado warning was cancelled. Sheriff's department cars reported it on the ground and that it blew cars off the highway.

If you hear anything on local radio, please let us know. I have relatives working in Houston, and damned near my whole family lives in Port Neches.

I'm glad that stuff's not heading this way. Although...this afternoon is not likely to be a picnic around here, or so it's said.

14. Richardo, another tornado in Houston area...
Edited on Mon Nov-17-03 12:09 PM by jchild
it's southwest of Houston heading towards the southwestern and western suburbs of houston. Moving 16 MPH.

YOu aren't in that area are you?

See the red area on top of the letter H in Houston? That is the tornado. It's headed towards Houston. Be careful!

17. Possibly...on the West Loop

just north of where Hwy 59 intersects Loop 610. So, depending on the storm track...

Thanks for the heads-up, I'm keeping an eye out the window...so far, just thunder & lightning.

info comes across the Weather Channel--I'm reading while I am listening to the telly--the word "tornado" catches my interest automatically, since I lived through one when I was 9.

in Harris County.

Tornado SW of Houston that is moving toward Houston is expected to arrive within the hour. It has hail, lots of rain, in it.

47. We got your cats and dogs.
It's been raining extremely hard here in the Dallas area for almost 2 hours now. The weatherbums have been forecasting rain since last Friday (with sunshine and temps in the 70s all weekend) so they can now heave a sigh of relief that they actually got a forecast right for a change. No tornadoes, though, thank goodness.
