God help you if you don't like this movie. You will rot in the burning flames of eternal fire if you don't.

9. Well, when I was 4 years old, my parents said I cried and cried....
...when I was watching it. So, I'm not sure if I liked it then, or was terrified by it, or was so empathetic with Rudolf at the time, that I had a 4 year old hissie fit/breakdown...

18. what if i celebrated Hanukkah, Kwanza or were an atheist?
I would think that might mean I didn't like Rudolph, or would at least have justification for not liking it.

25. Oh, it's such a fun little piece!
Shabby by today's standards, but still a wonderful show for the kids. One of my favorite songs is in that film. (There's Always Tomorrow)

Short story about that song: In 1986, when the Red Sox were one game from the world series, we all watched in horror as Bill Buckner fumbled the ball, and they lost.

Calvin Schirraldi (sp?) was pitching for us, and I felt really bad for him especially. A couple of days later, there was a big "Red Sox Appreciation Day" at Scollay Square (Government Center to those who don't know better!), and I was able to go since our offices were across the street.

Later that day, I found a copy of the soundtrack for Rudolph and taped a copy of that song for Schirraldi. I dropped it off at Red Sox headquarters in Fenway, but I never did hear back from him. :)

26. Oh it's a good movie!
The underdogs win and save Christmas! The abominable snowman used to send shivers up my spine. Really creepy. I was so relieved when he turned out to be a good guy :)

And I felt so sorry for Charlie because "nobody wants a charlie in the box" :(

27. except that Rudolph was shunned for his disability
until Santa realized it could be used to his profit. Screw that.

28. Santa didn't exactly profit from Rudolph's nose.
He was giving stuff away, remember?

The ultimate lesson is not to make fun of others' differences, because we all have value and we all have something to contribute (including Rudolph, Hermie, the Bumble, and all the "misfit toys").

29. You're taking "profit" a little too literally.
Perhaps I chose poorly. "Advantage" may be closer to the meaning I was after.

30. Yes, but it wasn't Santa's advantage.
Santa didn't want to disappoint the children who were expecting a visit from him. Rudolph saved the day for the children - not for Santa.

Santa learned his lesson, and he admitted he had been wrong.
