Who's that crappy singer on the MCI commercials?
You know, the white-haired, big-boned, small-voiced, out-of-tune, white-guy-trying-to-sound-like-a-Motown-artist guy? Oh wait, he IS a Motown artist.

Is he famous or something? G*d! His voice is so nasal and constricted. It sounds like he's choking and whining at the same time.

What's the skinny?

1. Good God...does this mean I'm old?
That's Michael McDonald, former lead singer of The Doobie Brothers.

Cripes! I'm only 35...that's not old, is it? :D

5. I thought
he was only the lead singer pretty much in the 1980's, when they sucked big fat gorilla balls.

7. He sang for Steely Dan too.
From about 72-75. In 75 he joined the Doobies at the suggestion of Skunk Baxter, also a member of SD. :-)

3. Michael McDonald
of the , or formerly of the Doobie Brothers, who were an interracial band, actually. They ruled pretty much in the 70's.

MM had some singles himself.

6. Michael McDonald. He's not singing very well anymore.
I'd say it's time for him to call it quits.

9. SCTV did a riotously funny bit...
...with Michael McDonald (played by Rick....Ah! what's his last name?) playing McDonald, working three studios at once, singing one line of a chorus for artists in each.....having lunch, running into the studio to sing another one-line....taking a nap, running in to the studio to sing a line....(all lines sung by Michael McDonald, dubbed in to Rick MORANIS! that's it) lines....

Moranis! a great name, in view of things. The Moranis could be a prehistoric monster unleashed by the right-wing thugs; but he turns on his cruel masters and send them fleeing in terror! Anybody with me?
