Midnight poetry thread
Yesterday I looked in their direction
for an unknown reason
I glanced again
There was something worth seeing
other than the season
I asked myself when
would I stop the internal
insurrection
an infernal
resurrection of war
with no reason
I looked again and asked
myself why
would there be
bombs going off while I'm sleeping
could you please put them a block or two
on the other side?
and people walking in a funeral
was I dreaming?
No
This was real
I asked myself when
it began
and
listened to those who knew
there was no reason to resurrect a war
between you and who?
and it began again
The bombs blew up
but I forgot to be sleeping
and I look in their direction
and smile
ask myself why
would I smile
with the bombs going off in my life
just a block or two
away?

3. Some are lost
though their eyes tell you something
different they say they are differing
but the cost to the shy ones
is something more than nothing
they are there with their eyes
daring to differ.
What a word
I heard in my head
differing
I like differ
instead
Some are not lost
they just listen
with their eyes
that speak without a word
I have heard
some are lost.

4. I'll get an educated response or that's it
People here think poems are shit
One can write another
and call for a brother
but he's only a baby sucking tit

6. A bather whose clothing was strewed
By breezes that left her quite nude,
Saw a man come along
And, unless I'm quite wrong,
You expected this line to be lewd.

8. Poems are poems
Dreams left undone
words spoken rare
heartstrings unspun
Ye may holler that none may care
but thoughts kept private, some seldom share

7. Are you available for autographs?
I know it's difficult, but if possible, could you take a brief moment out of your time to write an autograph? Obviously, this took much time and thought. I am amazed and enthralled.

Silly!!!!!!

:)

9. I can get it back to you
as soon as my secretary gets it to me. The average turnaround time is 5 or 6 weeks. I wish I could get it to you sooner, but I'm a VERY busy poet. :)

10. There are those that sometimes
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 02:29 AM by listenup
turn their heads into the wind
with the dust eating up their
energy and thoughts

It happens. Most times on Monday when
others look into their empty lives
and say they wish and hope
and dream and then

there are those that sometimes
live lives that mean
something to them and their close
ones

there are times that lives are live
that are nothing but mean
close to obcenity
and they get tired
and close their minds
lost all hope
no dreams
it seems

shut the fuck up.

11. There are those who sometimes
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 03:05 AM by RandomUser
render chaos onto the winds
fan motes and specks
with much abandon

Not always. Most times on Mondays when
winds lack fire, lay lifeless
and beg for color and verve
and dreams and then

there are those who sometimes
feel awash in fire
clinging to the currents
and sanity

there are times when currents carry
nothing but empty winds
awash in emptiness
and they get burned
darken and fade low
lost all control
no substance
it seems

oh screw the flames.
