What's with "fuck sake"? How common is that phrase. Heard it 2x today. |
|
It obviously means "Shit" or "oh no".

It's an expression of exasperation.

3. I use it in place of "Christ's sake!" |
|
As in, "for Christ's sake don't be such a dumb ass!"
Yeah, I use it in exasperation, too! ;-)

It's "fuck's sake" which is short for "Oh, for fuck's sake!" which is generally a replacement for "Oh, for god's sake!" or "Oh, for Christ's sake!". It is an indication of exasperation.
Fuck's sake! Can't you speak English?
Khash.

11. You remind me of Daniel .D. Lewis in Gangs of NY. He was great |

in that kind of lame film.

8. Sure, I've used it here a number of times, though I've used it properly |
|
in form, "fuck's sake". Not "Fuck sake". But people are sloppy, and so instead of saying both "s"s, they just ellide the whole thing together, and then people start thinking it's "fuck sake" and get my anger boiling for their failure to care about the language they speak such that it causes other people to err.
