3. half the reason I want to be a moderator |
|
Is to see what the deleted posts were.
The other half is that I want to get in on that Moderator-Lounge orgy.

I hate knowing I missed something. But I bet the comments that get deleted aren't nearly as good as we make them out to be in our heads. The freepers are never that witty. :-)

8. My suggestion - put deleted messages in target's private inbox |
|
while removing them from the public forums. That way the target of the message could know exactly what as said (and be able to respond privately), while the open forums can maintain the mods policy of deleting objectionable posts.
What could it hurt?

And it seems that I frequently miss the things that turn into flamefests that will be referenced in other threads and I don't know what the hell was going on.
Sometimes I'm just curious as to how over the top the remark had to be to get yanked. I admit to using dark humor, being a smart-ass, and using language that I have to go wash my typing fingers for sometimes.

13. I always try to judge.. |
|
based on the following message. If the message afterwards is something like "you obviously need professional help." or "no, I don't worship Bill Clinton's penis" Than, I know I can't get an idea of what was said.
So, there everyone, help out your fellow DUers and post something somewhat descriptive when you know a message is going to be deleted.
