When roads become rivers (and cars become boats)
We had some real flooding here in houston yesterday.

My company sent us home around 3:00 yesterday, because of the rain.

It was a real challenge to get home; many sections were flooded over 2 feet. I drive a Toyota Camry, and I regarded anything over about a foot as impassable, yet I saw many stranded morons with even smaller cars who tried to cross roads flooded over 3 feet deep.

I was also dismayed by the sheer number of fools who insisted on driving in the pounding rain without their headlights, making them nearly invisible to other drivers.

1. Beeyotch of a day, wasn't it?
Left the Galleria area at 3:30 and got home (22 miles away) 2 1/2 hours later...

Picked a bad week to give up horse tranquilizers... :D

3. I can't get over how many people were shown being pulled out of ...
And OFF OF the roofs of their cars down there!:wow:

What WOULD posess someone to take a Honda Civic or Chevy Cavalier...and try to drive it though three feet of rushing water? :wtf:

Oh, well...guess it'll make some eye-catching video for Jim Cantore's "Storm Stories" series over at the Weather Channel!:eyes:

Glad you're safe, though...:D

B-)

4. Yes, but nothing compares to Houstonians driving in the snow,...
it happens so rarely that people have no idea how to drive, so they have many accidents for even a slight snowfall. Next time, I stay home from work, not because of the snow, but because of the drivers.

BTW, I am a native Houstonian.
