YAY, an Ikea opens in Mass. next week. |
|
I can finally buy some of the furniture I've been eyeballing but not buying because delivery cost too damn much :)

I only wish we had an Ikea close by when we bought our home in NC and were furnishing it. The closest one there is in Virginia close to D.C.
Thankfully, now I have the one in Elizabeth which is literally a few miles away.

3. Yup. They have a bedroom set I've been wanting for a while |
|
that looks awesome and is dirt cheap ($199 for the bed, $49 each for the nightstands, $60 or so for the dresser).
I'm also considering a sofa they have :).
WooHoo for cheap (and decent) furniture! :bounce:

2. Ikea shipping is grueling. |
|
I'd never buy from the catalog. It costs twice as much as the item to receive it.
I can't figure out why IKEA wouldn't package their stuff, so that it can be shipped UPS or FedEx. They'd make a bundle, especially from college kids.

We talked to people at the New Haven Ikea (opened last summer?) and people had come from as far as Boston to shop there!

There's been talk for about five years of building one in Somerville I think they just finished dealing with all the legal problems they were having trying to build it.

9. My roommate bought an Ikea dresser |
|
It took forever to put together. The stuff looks pretty nice, though. I'm just too impatient for the things that require assembly. :P

10. There's a humongous Ikea just around the corner from where I work. |
|
I guess I need to get around to visiting there someday. I hear everyone raving about it, but I'm resisting going. Dunno why.
