5. what scenes are extended
I thought about buying it today, but passed on it. I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Which scenes did they extend?

9. Some of the added material
More on the Boromir/Faramir relationship, including an appearance by their father, Denethor, and why Boromir went to Rivendell instead of Faramir. Also augments some of the Faramir interaction with Frodo and Sam.

Where did that horse come from? When Aragorn is revived by the horse on the riverbank after being carried over the cliff by the warg, I wondered where the horse came from in the theatrical version. That's explained here.

There is more on Merry and Pippin, particularly their interaction with Treebeard. A whole scene entitled "Flotsam and Jetsam" that readers of the trilogy will recognize is also included.

There's a lot more, but in my opinion, the extended version is well worth it.

8. My wife likes Billy Boyd. Something about that Scottish accent.
I can do accents, so every once in a while she'll say: "Do Billy Boyd. Do Billy Boyd"

So I'll say: "Ye nee-idd pee-apple uv intilleejince fair this sairt of meeshun....qwaist.......thing."

She loves it. :-)
