10 reasons I love my new job~!
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 09:31 PM by undeterred
10. Its not my old job, thank God. :woohoo:

9. There's a company cafeteria with good inexpensive food, right below the floor I work on.

8. They don't make you take an hour for lunch, so you only take what time you need. This makes the day shorter which is important because I have a long commute.

7. I get to spend 3 hours a day listening to my favorite music, which is a positive spin on 3 hours of driving!

6. No one knows about the mistakes I made at my last job, or the stress. They only know what I tell them, and I've been very positive. :bounce:

5. Its starting out slow. I even got some training. B-)

4. I will be constantly learning new things which will make me more employable. :applause:

3. Its casual dress and a comfortable environment. :)

2. I don't see any red flags regarding people who might be tough to work with or work for. :grouphug:

1. It pays more than 50% better than the last job. I have to spend some of this commuting, but its still a lot more money than I have ever made before and I hope it bodes well for the future. :headbang:

9. I found out about the position thru a recruiter
Its contract to hire. I have been talking to this particular recruiter for 4 years, whenever I was in between assigments, but I never met him. This time he had something I was very interested in at just the right time. I was only at the old job for 3 months... they didn't check refs but they did a background check and drug test... contract to hire gives them a chance to form an opinion before the commit... and it gives me a chance to think about it too.

The old job was a bad match, but the work was unrelated to what I am doing in this one, so I don't think it would have mattered much. I just told them I hated it and left, which was true. I am still getting tons of calls from recruiters, so the techie market is good right now.

8. Wonderful--so happy that you found
someplace better! I love casual dress, too--those are always pretty cool offices to work in.

Congratulations, again!
