It's very beautiful. I'm flaking all over the place right now, but it'll be worth it!

9. Forgive the laziness
But what is a mehndi? Google's first three results pointed to web sites that had moved, and honestly, I'm feeling a little lazy right now.

Is this something my wife is going to want in the future? And if so, exactly how much does it usually cost?

13. No.

It's applied with a batik-type tool and it's henna powder mixed with water. when you first get it, it looks greenish brown, because the henna paste is still on. It flakes away and the skin is stained underneath. The longer you leave it on, the darker the stain and the longer it'll stay, but it's not permanent.

Edit-the picture I posted looks like a fresh one and DTBK posted a tatoo with the paste gone.

11. It's intricate henna patterns on the hands and feet
You see it on Indian and Pakistani brides, but we also get it for Eid. Your wife might like it! It usually costs $5-10 per hand or foot (that means $5-10 per side of the hand).

I'd post pictures of myself if I had the camera handy.

Let me look for a link...
