Went to the Paul McCartney concert last nite in Denver, had AAA 11th row
seats, frigging awesome seats!...At his age this Beatle can still belt them out, he played for 3 hours and kept his voice and energy the entire time at 100 percent. I was never a Paul McCartney fan before but I damn sure am now. His band members were excellent too, did a fantastic job. Listening to him live reminded me of my youth in England, of fields of green and copses of horse chestnut trees, quiet english villages and a much simpler time for a young lad

1. he's a good man, too
There is a children's hospital in Liverpool and an infant transplant clinic in Arizona that wouldn't be open right now without him.

7. the heat from the gas jets and explosions were awesome, thought the stage
might go up...I really dug the intimate moment when he brought out the funky upright and played.

12. We were sitting inthe nosebleeds and it was cool!
The only other group I've ever seen do something similar was The Trans Siberian Orchestra. If you ever get a chance to see them, do it. You will be blown away by their special effects.

They tour ever year at Christmas. We've seen them the past 3 years and they still blow us away.

18. Think of them as a rock band
that fuse classical music (Beethoven ,Liszt, Mozart, etc.) with heavy metal. They usually perform with local Orchestras/Symphonys backing them up so there's a wall of sound with many different layers. The main show tells a Christmas story, then they do their other music in the second set, lots of fun!

They are classical musicians who threw electric guitars into the mix and shook it up. What emerged is truly brilliant. Their Holiday show is a total family show, so you can take the kids and grandma (although grandma might want some earplugs).

The stage show rivals any big name concert you've ever seen.

See them once, you'll be a fan for life.

(not an endorsement)

:)

5. I saw him on his last tour...
when he was polishing off those old Beatles tunes for the first time in something like 40 years. Real good stuff. The only knock I have against McCartney's live show is that he has the same show every night, night after night. He never changes it up. But while that would be a deal-breaker for most bands, for McCartney, it's just a small nuisance (unless you hoped to see several shows, of course) -- the man is, after all, a freaking Beatle.

10. Wings were never as popular in the UK after he left the Beatles
as they were in the US, kinda like a dem switching to repuke, bad analogy but oddly very close

11. Never seen wings. I'm talking about McCartney's last tour...
you know, like a year or two ago.

As for Wings, hell, I could care less. "Band on the Run" is a kinda fun, goofy song, but nothing in Wings approaches the Lennon/McCartney dynamic the Beatles had going.

9. I saw him in the mid 90s
When I was in college. He came to Kansas City, and he was just as good then, but what I remember from that concert most was there were two guys in the row ahead of me. One of them looked and was dressed just like Neil Young, except shabbier. The other guy was middle aged, tall, very slim, bald but with a tuft of thick black hair around his head, and had on a completely ridiculous sweater. He looked like what a sitcom would make out to be the dorky neighbor of the main character.

He had the dope though, which he gladly shared with "Neil."

14. Wanted to go but I refuse to see another show in the Pepsi Center
Saw 3 shows there the sound sucked at every one. Unless you are in the first 50 rows on the floor that place is a waste for concerts.

15. I saw him
on October 14 in Michigan. It was a good show except I am always sitting by the crazy person. The woman right in front of me was too drunk and jumping up and down and imploring everyone around her to stand and dance, even on the slow songs. She finally collapsed backward into her seat, not to get up until it was over. When she did that, the woman I was sitting next to and I burst into laughter. I am a psycho magnet.
