hoedown for mice
Our little vermin problem of a couple of weeks ago has now become a full-blown fiesta. Having long since given up on doing things the nice way with havahearts, we've gotten a couple with traps and poison, but they don't seem to be doing the trick and I'd rather not use the poison anyway with the dog and the World's Most Useless Cat in the house.

Any ideas, other than to learn new epithets for old houses?

2. with poison out, I guess it's just as well.
Not that the poison is within reach of the cat, but I'd just as soon not have him playing with a poisoned mouse.

3. Poison is a bad idea just anyway.
The mice crawl back into the woodwork to die. Then your house smells like rot and death for a couple of months. I'll PM you with the heartless but efficient method of ridding yourself of mice. It wouldn't be kind to share the gruesome details with the tender-hearted.

4. I used to do the haveaheart
traps. We live sort of in the country and every year when it got cold they would come in. One year it was like a party, they would sit up and look at us as we watched TV. One night I laid my head down on my husbands lap and one of the little stinkers ran up my shirt. That was it. I trapped 13 or 14 of those suckers in two days. I HATE to do it but they get in my house and I can't sleep now. Actually the traps are probably better than using a cat. My cats at the farm torture the poor things so much that I am always tempted to rescue them.
