Bernard Goldberg was on Jon Stewart just a minute ago. |

Anybody else watching? I thought Bernie sucked, and came off as a cranky, bitter old dude. Jon, of course, was brilliant. He even got in a few digs at talk radio and FOX.
The right wingers suck. All their guys fall apart when confronted with Jon, the best spokesman the left could have.
In fact, the only guest I've seen appear smarter than Jon was that Historian he had on not too long ago when discussing the Reagan movie. That guy was impressive, and the most completely impartial person I've ever heard speak. I'm glad there are some folks out there who are TRULY objective and no spin.

I think what people mean when they say that the media is liberal is that the media hasn't rolled over ENTIRELY and acted as a complete propaganda tool for the Republican government ala Fox News and the Nazi Party. Until that happens, the media will be "liberal."

3. boo hoo, the networks won't have me on |

Bernie Goldberg gets to promote his book on The Daily Show and other cable shows, but we're supposed to feel sorry for him because he wasn't invited on "The Tonight Show" (I guess) to promote his book, or whatever network show he was hoping for.
When confronted by Stewart about why if the media is so liberal, it doesn't put more liberals in office, Goldberg was like, maybe they aren't trying to get liberals elected and maybe they aren't tougher on conservative candidates, but the way they cover affirmative action is biased.
More newspapers endorsed George W. than Al Gore (by circulation), but we're supposed to care that affirmative action stories aren't written the way Goldberg would write them?

4. Its really a smart strategy |

If they keep repeating the media is liberally biased, then anytime a conservative gets caught doing Bad Things they can just say "see, we told you they were against us".
Funny how Eric Alterman completely dismantled Goldberg's whole book in like half a chapter in "What Liberal Media".

He did come off as bitter and angry. I didn't know he wrote another book, wasn't one that has been almost totally discredited enough?

Funny thing about him though. He's actually a great sports reporter. If you watch Real Sports with Bryant Gumble and you see his reports you'll wonder if you're watching the same guy who has all these looney liberal media conspiracy theories.

Seems like sports is one of the few venues where liberals and conservatives can find common ground. As long as they're not on the oxycontin, of course.
