Uh-oh...the Eagles lost again. |
|
You mean to tell me the Chicago Bears have a better record than the vaunted Eagles? What's next? Cats sleeping with dogs? Karl Rove leaving his position without being indicted? George Bush impeached?

1. But my Chiefs beat the Raiders today. |
|
And in dramatic fashion. A classic Chiefs-Raiders match-up.

they were in control pretty much the whole game and then in the 4th the Jets scored a few TDs and almost came back.
Tomlinson rushed for 4 TDs. Man, that guy is a machine.

in the AFC West. At least the rest of our division games are at home.

10. Chargers need to play tough |
|
to even get in the playoffs. They lost a four games early, but they can seriously play. Brees is playing well, Tomlinson and Gates might be the best players in the league at their positions. If they can get it going and get into the playoffs they should be tough.
Broncos are having a great year, but you just never know when Jake Plummer is going to lose his cool. He can get damn erratic pretty fast. But, he's playing great right now.
Chargers match up pretty well against KC don't they? I've always liked the KC offense. Lots of weapons there. Tony Gonzales is a legit great player. Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson are a great tandem. Trent Green can play. Defense seems tougher.

13. Chiefs offense is off pace this year. |
|
But the defense is greatly improved. They'll keep them in games. I think Green has been vastly underrated. Alas, the Chargers beat us last week.

T.O. can play like nobody's business when he wants to, but he's just pure poison right now. It's a situation where there is no really good alternative for anyone involved.

5. Yeah, but they actually ran the ball more than 20 times |
|
23, to be exact. That's still pathetic and high likelihood of a loss with a number like that, but by Eagles standards it might as well be the Switzer Sooner wishbone.
At least it gives me one automatic wager every week. Find Philly's opponent and bet them. I can't remember the last time I lost. Any NFL team that refuses to run the ball is going to find me opposing them at the window. Keep it up, Andy Reid.

I can't believe they basically refuse to run the ball. WTF? It's bizarre.

11. The funny part is they actually use play action |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 01:33 AM by Awsi Dooger
I mean, which NFL team is dunce enough to fall for that? Play action is totally dependent on some threat of a running game otherwise it's just wasted energy and a crucial half second.
When it was 4th down on the final drive with a minute and a half left, McNabb ran a play action "fake" on the play he threw the interception. I was sweating out my bet and the game was essentially over with the interception, but instead of celebrating I just sat here in amazement at the play call.

20. The worst part is, there is no use gloating with eagles fans. |
|
They won't allow you the satisfaction, because they are all hypocritical fair-weather fans anyway. Sure, they have an eagles helmet mailbox, fly not one but two eagles flags from the roof of their SUV, wear a McNabb jersey and a pair of black and green striped asshole pants from 10 years ago, they even sing the retard anthem, "Flye Eagles Fly," it just doesn't matter, as soon as the Eagles start to lose they go "Eagles, who are the Eagles" and act like they never heard of them. Philly fans boo their own teams faster then any other fans in the nation.
I had two rabid eagles fans over my house a few weeks ago, the game was on and the Eagles were quickly overwhelmed by someone or another, I was just starting to enjoy it, really looking forward to 3 quarters of schadenfreude, and what do they do? In the second quarter, they TURN THE GAME OFF and switch to the baseball playoffs.
Now a Giants fan, they would remain glued to their seat if the Giants were down 65 to 0 with 30 seconds to go, wincing and crying the whole time, but they'd never turn the game off.

21. I don't want to start a flame war with Eagles fans |
|
but living in central Jersey all my life and being at college in South Jersey I heard nothing but smack from them last year and I've gone toe to toe with some over what a clubhouse cancer TO would be (I was 100% correct on that one). But somehow they were all quite silent today when I went into class to gloat. Fair weather fans indeed.
I'm a Mets fan and a Giants fan, I never give up on either team until they are mathematically eliminated. Even then I'll still watch just because I love watching my guys

You don't go home from your kids game because they're losing, you wouldn't stop rooting for your kid's team, ever.
