early last week we received a phone call about a friend of ours who was admitted to ICU
He was in a diabetic coma, (no one even knew he was diabetic)
they had to sedate him because of violent twitching, put him on a respirator and insert a feeding tube. He also had pneumonia. blood pressure was up and down and all over the place, circulation to his feet was seriously impaired.
They got things under control and he was making small improvements through the week. On Saturday they took him off the respirator and ut back on the sediatives.
We got a phone call last night from his daughter -- he woke up and said "get me the hell out of her and take me home"
he's not going home right away - he still at the tail end of pnemonia, and the problem with the blood circulation is going to mean the lose of 3 toes.
